Courtney + Matt . San Antonio, TX . Engagement

Courtney and Matt met at Purdue. Currently they live at a distance while Matt is stationed in Corpus Christi. On her recent visit to see Matt, we all met up at the Riverwalk for an engagement session. Both Courtney and Matt are soft spoken and there is a gentleness in them that comes through in the images. Along with those blue eyes they both love about each other :)

Ashley + Bryan . Boerne, TX . Wedding

Ashley and Bryan met as students at TCU. Bryan played baseball there, not only played, but was part of a Championship Team. He is currently playing for the Detroit Tigers minor team and LOVING it! What a gift it is to live your dream. They met one night at the local hot spot, Fuzzy’s Tacos, following a game that Ashley wasn’t even that thrilled to go to, but a friend had talked her into it. Fate has a funny way of going about things sometimes. We revisited Fuzzy’s and the TCU baseball field during their engagement session. You might remember it… here. I had so much fun that day, getting to know this couple that was completely comfortable with one another, and learn more about this TCU home they spoke so highly of. It was only natural that the TCU influence played a huge role in their wedding day. The TCU’s Horned Frogs color is Purple. The wedding was accented beautifully in purple… from Ashley’s shoes, to the flowers, the girls dresses, the reception linens and lighting. The grooms cake will go down as an all-time favorite… a replica of the TCU baseball stadium – detailed to perfection. It included the championship photo on the “big screen”. Truly a work of art! Oh and that place Fuzzy’s I mentioned, well they had chips and salsa brought in for their guests all the way from Fort Worth Fuzzy’s. Nice touch. Ashley and Bryan are smitten with one another and I wish them the best in their bright future. Oh, and did I mention the dance pics?? There were just too many to choose from. What a fun crowd! Thank you so much for including me!

My how times have changed…

Ashley’s father hurt himself the day before and ended up on crutches, so Grandpa stepped in to finish the dance…

FUNFETTI!!! Do you like this one in color or black and white?

What to Wear . Photo Sessions

People are always asking me what they should wear to a photo session. There are no rules when it comes to what to wear. The thing I always like to tell people is please oh please, be yourself! You want to be comfortable in your own skin. My goal when capturing your images is to capture your personalities and who you really are. If you are uncomfortable in what you have on, this will come through in your face. Don’t try to be something you’re not.

Having said this, here are some more tips…
. Unless you dress matchy matchy on an everyday basis, please skip this for photos too.
. If jeans are what you love to wear, bring them! They make for great photos.
. Don’t be afraid of color.
. Stripes and patterns are ok. The old rule of solids only is long gone!
. Bring both a dressy and a casual look. Dressy can be fun, but casual reflects your day to day self. We will get plenty of formal dressy on your wedding day :)
. For family photos, let the kids have a hand in this too… maybe there is a favorite tu-tu, cape or t-shirt. Bring it!
. When it comes to maternity shoots, we want to show off the belly, so tighter tops are ideal. Bring options.
. Accessories: Bring your favorite shoes, necklace, jewelry, hats, ties, scarves, etc… We LOVE accessories!
. And don’t forget those favorite items that are meaningful to you – a guitar, soccer ball, baseball glove, etc…

If you need help finalizing decisions, I am more than happy to help with that process. Bring a couple extras the day of the shoot and I will be glad to help you narrow down your selections and help pick and choose what might go best together for the photos. Just be yourself :)

Bright colors and plaid. It totally works!

Picnic basket, a blanket, and the cups found their way with us, as they loved picnics on the beach…

He loves music and singing, so he brought his guitar…

Melanie and David were married at the Lakeway Resort on Lake Travis this past fall. I met with Melanie and her mom what seems like forever ago when they booked the date. In getting to know David too, it has become quite clear why these two fell in love with one another. I was honored to be a part of their wedding this past fall. Anne + Gregg . San Antonio, TX . Wedding

Anne and Gregg are married! They live out east and traveled back to San Antonio to be wed. I spoke with Anne several times before we met at the rehearsal dinner and all I have to say is that she one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met! These two are crazy about one another and it came through during their first sight… true, tender love. I loved their morning Greek Orthodox ceremony with a luncheon reception and dancing outdoors in the beautiful sunshine. Between the couple, the ceremony, the attire, the vintage car and the details, this wedding goes down as a favorite. Thank you so much for including me in your big day!
