The first wedding of 2017 will go down as one of the most special weddings I’ve had the privilege of capturing. I remember when baby Oak was born as we have mutual family. Oak has always impressed me with his wisdom, starting from an early age. Then he met his match in Emily. These are two people who respect and love one another in a way that is rare. So when Oak and Emily reached out to me to capture their wedding, it was an easy yes and an honor for me to capture.
Oak and Emily were married in Muskegon, MI, in January, on an abnormally extra-frozen day, with beautiful fluffy snow covering the ground. The locations of the photos were each chosen because they are meaningful to the couple in some way. The details they had woven throughout the day also had much meaning. One of my favorites is the inside of Oak’s ring is wood (see the photo below), but not just any wood… it is a piece of driftwood from Lake Michigan. So cool! It was surrounded by their closest friends and family, that they exchanged these rings and committed their lives to one another. I couldn’t be happier that these two special people have found one another. Congratulations Oak and Emily!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me 🙂
